Brakes and such [s]

Ferodo pads on the front. They're supposed to be stoppier than the Brembo ones, I'll let the car in front of me be the judge of that.

Crg levers to replace the stock ones.

I'm trying header wrap on a few sections of pipe to avoid any more pants-on-fire incidents or melted passenger shoes.

Great news, I've got Speed in hd for this wonderful new year in motorsports. Highlights:
  • gp: Hayden joins Stoner at Ducati. Nicky's bike broke too often last year for he and Pedrosa to properly be crabs in the barrel of catching Rossi. Maybe now...
  • sbk: Enter Aprilia and bmw. Alas, no more Bayliss.
  • f1: Considering the end of the last two seasons, things are looking good. Plus the fia is pulling out all the stops to make passing very frequent.
  • wrc: Hah hah, if only. Oh well, at least we'll have thrice the nascar coverage.

More work [s]

The first round of tile went in to the downstairs shower.

China multicolor slate.

Laid out as you'd be looking from the top down. Left wall of 12x12 and 24x24, middle wall of 24x24 and then 12x12, then the right wall of three 12x12 columns.

Windows at last. Vinyl frames, bright white to contrast the swiss coffee interior paint color.

Rob dug up some photos from his trip down. Here you can see Connie knocking out a wall. I added few more pool photos to a previous post.

The Singapore GP was a good watch. How I long for it to be covered in hd and see the full brilliance of the machines at night. The significance of the safety car leads me to wonder if it'll be Ferrari or McLaren to first have their number two driver strategically impact a wall. You know, the Hamilton-Massa gap is only six points and that's nothing considering the final race is in Brazil.

Motorsports day [r]

And what a day.

F1 Hockenheim

Hard to say it was technically a great race, but about thirty laps in, Timo Glock certainly sparked a wave of drama. He showed everyone in spectacular fashion that F1 cars don't take too well to driving off tarmac - rumble strips included. The ensuing safety car nullified Hamilton's gargantuan lead and, on account of creative pit strategy, the Brit had to regain the lead from fifth.

More artificial drama at Glock's hands included Piquet's run at the checkered, owing to a fortuitous pit as the Toyota spun into the barrier. It was certainly entertaining to watch Hamilton on a ten lap charge to regain first. And the scandal of Kovalainen's yield to the faster McLaren - a team that purportedly issues no orders.

Superbike Brno
Standard operations here. Two races with great battles, lots of lead changes, Bayliss!

MotoGP Laguna Seca
The Laguna race featured the finest battle so far this year, even if it was resolved prematurely. It's too bad Hayden couldn't compete and Hopkins was out, but the AMA wildcards did pretty well.

Check out 1:06... There's a much better replay out there somewhere showing an opposite angle.

Rossi:
'The Corkscrew was a great overtaking spot. Sometimes it's possible to make a mistake there, but the gravel had good grip.'
