Borderlands 4 (2025)

In this post:
Star Wars made an XCOM clone. Yes, it's pretty darn close to the later XCOM games but set during the star wars.
A few nights ago in a media room close, close to where I am sitting...
It is a period of civil war. The Trade Federation and Republic are shooting at each other. Tesh Hawks, formerly of the Grand Army of the Republic, runs a merc outfit who - like many small businesses and AI companies - is having balance sheet issues.

Every August is pretty hot, this one has been no different. The pool has been nice, particularly after having a couple of eucalpytuses removed. I've gotten some gaming in, hiding from the sun and crowds at - well - pretty much everywhere since LA and AZ and NV are extra hot.
I think the entire household has had a good summer. Camps are way more fun for rising kindergarteners and Dani aged in to Kids' Day at work. Cousin Jack came down for some beach, pool, and Legoland with Mom and Dad.

Some games in this one. Hades II, Borderlands 4, Slay the Spire 2, Astro Bot, and PUBG.

Borderlands 4 is excellent. It says a lot about the franchise that I can't really say how great it is until I've finished a couple of playthroughs, taken on some raid bosses, and played the DLC. But the way things are going right now, I'd say once all is said and done it'll be the second most enjoyable game in the series (after BL2, of course, and recognizing that BL1 is the only reason we are here).

Me and J played about four hours of Borderlands 4 this evening. It's been fun so far and the positive (non-Steam) reviews have us hopeful.

The Borderlands 4 reveal dropped a couple of weeks back. It seems to show Elpis, presumably at the conclusion of BL3 from the other side of the phase shift. Elpis wrecks some green ice energy stuff, sending debris down to a new(?) planet. Someone on the planet with a robotic hand picks up a psycho mask from a chunk of the Pandoran moon.
