Floors are in for the dining room, living room, and entryway. Now to find me a bearskin rug and moose head.

The floors went together pretty quickly and easily. The most significant time was spent aligning the first row of boards, as they would determine the orientation of the entire floor. Then it was a matter of tapping and nailing them together.

It went pretty fast yesterday with me picking and setting the planks, then Jon nailing them and sinking the finishing screws. Then today Curt helped out and we got the rest done.

Last of the painting, start of the flooring

The hallway, stairway, and unnamed area adjacent to the kitchen is ready to be primed. And that will be the last of it.

Work in progress and the kitchen sink | Nortrup in Development

I try to explain work in progress limits a lot and feel like it comes across as an abstract concept a lot of the time. How much work can the team do at the same time? Or it gets a historical example from Toyota about kanban cards and spots on a pallet, which doesn't make a ton of sense if you've never worked in a factory. Today I have a more concrete example, the kitchen sink and putting the dishes away. My system of washing the dishes starts at the dining room table, goes to the dish...
